Pilates is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training utilizing a system of over 500 exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. It works several muscle groups simultaneously through a fluid range of motion while focusing on strengthening and stabilizing the core muscles found in the pelvic girdle, abdomen and back. Pilates is performed on a variety of equipment that challenges the body in all planes of motion. 

Don’t be surprised if the beginning exercises seem simple with none of the overexertion you experience with traditional strength training. The effects are deep, you will engage muscles you never knew you had. As you progress, the fitness challenges become significantly greater, only limited by your instructors imagination and knowledge.
